SHELLY: You know.....name on sign.....Shelly. That's me and I really am the boss. I'm not the best at any one thing. More often than not I'm told what to do and how to do it the right way. My go-to swear word is "sugar smacks". I tell the girls I'm leaving....bye, see ya later......then come back in at least 2 more times. It's so bad they've started to time how long it takes me to come back in again. Love what we do though and totally love and appreciate each of the girls.
AMANDA: She's the boss's daughter and she thinks she's the boss but she's not. She does wear the title of The General though and wears it well. She runs a tight ship at the shop and keeps the girls running.....literally. When they can't run the doors to the drying racks as fast as she sprays them I've seen her grab a painted doors, one for each hand plus balance one on her head, and run them to the drying rack herself. The girls got mad spraying skills and we'd be lost without her. PS. She doesn't really balance a door on her head but probably could if she tried.
AMANDA P: Her nickname is The Mom. When we can't find something she can hear what's being said from 300 ft away and will shout out where the delinquent item is. She's also the caulking queen, taught by yours truly, only she has now surpassed me in that skill. She's one of the youngsters of the group but does a fabulous job of every task we put her on.
AMY: And her nickname is Wonder Woman and she really is! She's efficient and meticulous. She can do almost anything and do it great! She can take the cranky clients, the over-board fussy clients and have them warm up to her like nobody's business. She's the one who gets all the tips: a bottle of wine, $50, a box of donuts, etc. And no, she doesn't share: ( She's been my friend forever and I could not do this without her!
ERIN: This chick is the most positive person ever. Like, sometimes we want to slap her positive. When we have the jams cranking at the shop and Erin's there working she's got a mean booty shake she does in time to the beat while she continues to sand. She's also brutally honest. I never hesitate to ask her to work extra because I know if she don't wanna she'll let me know.
JILL: I'm thinking Jill needs a new nickname. She's got a bad back so has tried quitting a few times but we're an addictive bunch of girls and she keeps coming back to us. What's the saying.....a glutton for punishment?!? Facebook post after she sprayed herself in the face with the primer: #ivetriedquitting She's the glazing chick. See, first she was really protective of her role in the business, didn't want anybody else to know how to rock it out like she does. Now she's so dang good that she doesn't even have competition.
JODY: This chicka worked with us for a while then left for almost a year and then came back for more. We missed her while she was gone. She's the ooolllldddd one of the group. She'd be the first to point out that I only trail her by a few months but I need something to tease her about. A little plug her for Jody is that she's an incredible sign maker. Check out Heart to Heart Signs on FB or Etsy if you want an original, quality made, hand painted sign. My house is full of her signs <3
LISA: Sassy Pants is the perfect name for Lisa. We even have a sprayer named after her, just plain old sassy. I love spending time with her and hope she feels the same about me. She's the master kitchen putter-togetherer when we're wrapping up your project. Come to think of it she's pretty proficient at just about everything. If laughter really is the best medicine it's good to be with Lisa because you'll for sure spend some time holding your side.
MADS: Poor Mads doesn't have a nickname yet. She's the baby of the bunch at only 20 years old but she's amazing! Probably helps that her mom is a super-duper painter and was able to teach her the tricks of the trade. Mads is a bit more on the quiet side so Lisa has made it her mission to make Mad's sassy like her.
TAMMY: Monday is Tam's nickname because she can only work for us on Monday. I hope the day rolls around soon where I can boss her around more than just once a week. Until then I'm super grateful for Monday's and her amazing painting skills that she's been honing for the last 15 years. Thanks Tam for giving us Mads. She's a great addition to the team and sorry Lisa's trying to make her sassy!
